3040 Silicone 5 Gallon Kit

3040 Silicone is a translucent, high-strength platinum-cure RTV silicone rubber for professional mold making. Its low viscosity makes it easy to pour and quick to degas.

Specifications are based on room and material temperatures of approximately 75°F.

Processing & Temperature

Processing properties are affected by temperature. Temperatures above 75°F (24°C) can shorten work life and pot life, while lower temperatures can extend them. Refrigerating Part A before use in hot environments may improve handling. Cure temperatures below 68°F (20°C) are not recommended because they may reduce final cure hardness and physical properties.

Platinum-Cure Compatibility

This system contains a platinum catalyst and may be inhibited by certain materials, including some organic polymer systems, chlorinated solvents, amine-cured epoxies, sulfur-cured rubbers such as natural rubber and latex rubber, some adhesives, sulfur-containing modeling clays, PVC-coated surfaces, and tin-catalyzed silicone RTV rubbers.

When compatibility is uncertain, perform a small patch test before production use.
